Accompanist & Repetiteur
North Buckinghamshire (Stewkley/Leighton Buzzard)
Organisation: Stewkley Singers
Closing date: 24 September 2026, noon
Stewkley Singers is a well-established and enthusiastic choir of 50+ singers and it is looking for a sensitive and technically skilled Accompanist/Repetiteur from 1 January 2027.
Stewkley Singers is an extremely friendly, non-auditioning, all-inclusive group which meets on Thursday nights throughout the Autumn (Semester 1) and Spring/Summer (Semester 2) terms and enjoys a variety of social activities throughout the year. Our concert programmes are varied, with the Semester 1 concert tending to feature lighter repertoire accompanied by piano/organ and the Semester 2 concert featuring larger works, usually alongside professional orchestra and soloists.
Recent performances have included Mozart’s Mass in C minor K.427, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Verdi’s Requiem, Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Brahms’ Requiem and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms as well as more modern repertoire such as Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light. Coming up in the new season, starting in September 2026, we look forward to performances of Fauré’s Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine, and John Rutter’s Feel the Spirit (28th November 2026).
We are looking for a dynamic Accompanist/Repetiteur to accompany the choir and collaborate enthusiastically with our Musical Director, Jenny Morgan, to enable the choir to flourish as we move into our 21st year. The individual appointed will have proven piano and choral experience. An ability to play organ would also be beneficial, though not essential.
